BELIEFS

The Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God that Holy Men of old spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. (II Timothy 3:15)

The One True God

We believe our God is one, but manifested as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, being co-equal. (I John 5:6-8)

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He was crucified, died and was buried, and on the third day, He arose from the dead and ascended on high where He took His seat at the right hand of God the Father Almighty until His enemies become His footstool. (I Corinthians 15:3-4, I Peter 2:18-24 and John 3:16)

The Holy Spirit & the Gifts of the Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Helper that Jesus promised that comes to exalt Jesus, convict us of sin, regenerate our hearts, lead us to truth, and empower us for spiritual life (John 14). We believe in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance. (Acts 2:4, Acts 2:38-39, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 19:2, Acts 1:8, Matthew 3:11). We believe that the church of Jesus Christ should operate in all the 9 gifts of the Spirit to demonstrate the power of the Gospel. The Holy Spirit distributes to the believer Spiritual Gifts as He wills. These gifts differ according to the grace given to us. As members of the Body of Christ we should work together using the manifestation of the Spirit through those different gifts for the common good (Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-12).

Special Creations

We believe that man is created being made in the likeness and image of God but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23).

The Devil

We believe that Satan was originally created a perfect being. He rebelled against God. As a result, he became depraved, the devil and adversary of God and His people, the leader of a host of angels who fell with him. Satan has been judged and defeated at the cross and awaits his ultimate doom at the conclusion of the Millennial Reign which takes place after the Second Advent of Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:2; I Thessalonians 3:5; I Peter 5:8; Revelation 12:9; 20:1-3; 7-10).

Salvation of Man

We believe man’s first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that worketh repentance. The new birth (being born again) is necessary to all men and when fulfilled, produces eternal life. (II Corinthians 7:10 and Galatians 4:4-7). We believe in water baptism by immersion that is a direct commandment of Jesus and for believers only. (Acts 2:38 and Acts 19-5-6).

Divine Healing

We believe in divine healing by the power of God through the prayer of faith, laying on hands and speaking the Word. (Isaiah 53:4, Matthew 8:16-17, Mark 16:18, John 5:6-14 and I Peter 2:24).

Holiness and Sanctification

We believe the Bible teaches that without holiness, no man shall see the Lord. The doctrine of sanctification is a definite, yet progressive work of grace. (Hebrews 12:14). Sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil and of dedication unto God. (Romans 12:1-2; I Thessalonians 5:23; Hebrews 13:12). Sanctification is obtainable as a second definite work of grace, received by faith in the blood of Christ. Sanctification is realized in the believer by recognizing his identification with Christ in His death and resurrection, and by faith reckoning daily upon the fact of that union, and by offering every faculty continually to the dominion of the Holy Spirit (Romans 6:1-11,13; 8:1-2,13; Galatians 2:20; Philippians 2:12-13; I Peter 1:5).

Child baptism and Dedication

Since water baptism is an outward expression of an inward work of grace, we do not practice infant baptism. However, we do encourage presenting our children to the Lord in child dedication and blessing until they are old enough to make their own choice and decision (Luke 2:27; Mark 10:13-16).

Foot Washing and Holy Communion

Washing the saints’ feet is scripturally sound, but we believe that the deeper meaning of what Jesus did , was teaching humility before one another. But this is optional to those who wants to practice this. (John 13:4-17). The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements – bread and fruit of the vine – is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ. (II Peter 1:4); a memorial of His suffering and death (I Corinthians 11:26); and a prophecy of His second coming (I Corinthians 11:26); and is enjoined on all believers “until He comes!”

Water Baptism

This is by full immersion in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit is commanded in the Scriptures. All who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. Thus, they declare to the world that they died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4).

Biblical Feast of The Lord:

We believe that the 7 biblical feast of the Lord simplified into 3 main feast of the Lord – Pesach(Passover), Shavu’ot(Pentecost) and Sukkot(Feast of Tabernacles) were ordained not only to the Jewish people but to all mankind forshadowing what has already happened and what is to happened. We the Voice of Hope Congregation keep these feasts.

The 5 fold ministry as instuted by the bible.

1. Apostles The main function of the Apostle is: To maintain the faith as it was first handed down. To keep the order in the church leadership and membership. To maintain doctrinal purity. To establish new congregations 2. Prophets The function of the Prophet is to proclaim in the earth what God is saying. The Prophet has the ability to judge and decree judgment. The Prophet(s)’s function in the church is to provide the direction of God through prophetic utterance. 3. Pastors The function of the Pastor is to feed the flock, to nurture, to encourage, and to protect God’s people. 4. Evangelists The function of the Evangelist is to proclaim the message of Christ to the unbeliever as well as kindle the fire for souls in the church. 5. Teachers The Teacher functions as part of this presbytery and brings clarity to the people of God, concerning God’s direction for their lives. We believe the purpose of the 5-fold ministry is for equipping, building, attaining unity, imparting knowledge, growing, and maturing believers to the stature and fullness of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16). There is a mutual respect among these ministry gifts so that they all report to each other.

RACISM

We believe God created all mankind equal and that no race is superior to the other . As such all men should be treated equally without partiality. (Gen. 1:26-27; 9:6; Jn. 13:35, 15:12-13; Acts 17:24-26; 1 Cor. 1:13; Gal. 3:26-28; Eph. 2:13-16; 1 Tim. 2:3-6; 1 Pet. 1:22; 1 John 2:9-10)

Tithes, Offerings, and Alms

We believe that the need of the church in the new testament should be met through tithe and offering of the members and attendants(Matthew 23:23; I Corinthians 16:1; II Corinthians 9:6-7). Believers in Yeshua are also admonished to attend to the poor and needy through Alms. This includes not just the poor in the Body of Christ but those in the local community (1 John 3:17; Luke 3:11, 6:30, 14:13; Matthew 6:1; Acts 9:36, 10:2, 10:4, 11:29, 24:17, 20:35; Galatians 2:10; Romans 15:25-27; 1 Corinthians 16:1-4).
